We are required to publish data on the proportion of our Year 6 cohort who are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

2017 Y6 – 38 in cohort

32/38 children (84%) have learned to swim

 6 children have not learned to swim of these

4/6 non swimmers are EAL

2/6  non swimmers are PP

2/6  non swimmers are SEND

4 of the non-swimmers were EAL (6 in the whole cohort).  When compared to others, there is a trend of EAL children not learning to swim and more noticeable,  the % is higher in Asian children.
