Assemblies and Reflection at St. Ebbe’s
St Ebbe’s is a Church of England Voluntary Aided school. Collective Worship is therefore an important part of the school day as it gives us the opportunity to come together as a school community to reflect and celebrate together. It is attended by students and staff. We are currently working with our Foundation Governors to consider how we can give children at St. Ebbe’s the best possible experience of worship and reflection that we can. We are open to feedback and suggestions from our wider community too. Below you can find a guide to the content of assemblies over the coming term. All schools should have a daily act of collective worship which is ‘wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character’ as required by the Education Reform Act, 1988.
We aim for transparency in our teachings and to make our worship and reflection inclusive of our diverse community.
Our weekly routine of assemblies is as follows:
Monday – whole school led by HT
Tuesday – singing
Wednesday – key stage assemblies in class or as a group
Thursday – whole school led by St. Ebbe’s and St. Matthew’s Church
Friday – learning and kindness celebration
