Science allows us to understand the complexity and beauty of our world; it provides us with crucial knowledge and inspires fascination and wonder. ‘Science is magic that works’, Kurt Vonnegurt.
Exciting Science lessons develop our children’s natural curiosity and wonder. Science teaching and learning at St Ebbe’s supports, encourages and challenges scientific thinking. As Albert Einstein said, ‘The important thing is to never stop questioning’.
Science brings together knowledge and awe and creates a love for continuous learning. In becoming thoughtful and critical scientists, children learn skills that they will use throughout their lives; they are able to make connections, question information and make careful and informed conclusions/opinions. They also learn and apply vital literacy, mathematics and ICT skills.
For the most part, Science is taught discretely from our Inquiry-Based Projects except where there are thoughtful and obvious links to be made.
