What to do if you or your child have Covid symptoms

We have recently received the following advice regarding children and adults displaying Covid symptoms:

Any child or adult displaying any Covid symptoms (a high temperature, a new persistent cough or a loss or change to their sense of taste or smell) must not come to school.

Anyone displaying any of these symptoms should immediately arrange to have a Coronavirus test ( nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test ). They must also self-isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms or until they have received a negative Coronavirus test result and their symptoms have cleared. All other members of the same household must also self-isolate for 14 days or until a negative test result has been received.

Please ensure that if your children display any Covid symptoms that you arrange a Coronavirus test for them as soon as possible. Unless you have a negative Coronavirus test result for a child who has been symptomatic the child will need to self-isolate for 10 days and all other members of your household, e.g. their siblings, will need to self-isolate for 14 days.

We have been advised that we have no discretion in this matter and therefore we cannot allow any child to come to school whilst they are required to self-isolate.
